Microsoft Windows Users

Webcast works best with Internet Explorer version 6 or newer. The service also works with other web browsers such as Opera and Firefox although the functionality may vary. You must also install Windows Media player version 9.0 or newer.

Firefox/Chrome users under Windows
It is highly recommended that you download and install the Windows Media Player plugin for Firefox, developed by Microsoft's Open source community: http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx


Opera users under Windows

Mac Users

To use webcast with Mac you need to install Quicktime with Flip4Mac or Windows Media player for Mac. You can download and install program extensions (known as “plug-ins”) for free. The web browsers Safari, Firefox and Opera support these extensions. Below you will find usable alternatives, depending on which operating system you use on your Mac:

Mac Intel: Flip4Mac WMV for QuickTime (requires QuickTime version 6.5.x or later).

Linux Users

There are several alternatives for using webcast with Linux, but the functionality may vary. A recommended solution for viewing the webcast for Linux users is listed below:

Player: MPlayer (Visit http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ for more information)
Plug-in: MPlayer-plug-in (Visit http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/ for more information)
Codec: Win32codec (Win32codec for MPlayer can be found at: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ )

You can also use other web browsers or players, but there must be an existing plug-in and Win32codec for the player you want to use on your web browser.

Ubuntu/Debian Etch/Mepis users can download the program package Automatix2. For more information visit: http://www.getautomatix.com/.
